Propeller Talk

Welcome to Propeller talk, firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing committee for their efforts, a lot was achieved with Bill chasing up our new Sea Bees clothing, and Tom and the committee worked hard at getting the new Monthly and 12 Monthly competitions up and running.

Now the monthly and 12 monthly competitions are on a trial basis so far to iron out any bugs in the system and should be in for the 2009/2010 fishing year. Then this will cater for all our country members and Sydney based members in NSW.

And for the rest of us who just want to go out and have a good time out on the water then do so, and if you happen to catch some fish along the way, well then that’s a bonus, hopefully you have picked up some handy hints from club members and our guest speakers to improve your fishing techniques.

I had an idea on a Charter Boat section, to cater for members who don’t have a boat, Or like myself, I can’t stand how much it cost to get out there, with the rising cost of oil and rego insurance, etc; etc; it’s just ridicules. I would rather book some skipper who is in the know of where the fish are and pay him X amount of dollars to hopefully catch a fish or two.

Your committee has a few new places for you to visit this year, our old favourite Port Stephens and a new one on the books is ShellHarbour. Keep an eye out for the outdoor program

Hope to see you at some of this outings, I unfortunately have another 12 months left on my contract at work, (6 days a week), So please forgive me if you don’t see me at some of this outings.  But be patient I will return.

The Bunning’s BBQ was a huge success, a big thanks to Eddie for organising the event and to all involved especially Verna, who was there from 8am till 4 pm.  Read Eddie’s report in the Propeller Magazine for more details.

The Adults and Children’s Christmas party will be combined this year and will be held at Galston Recreational Reserve on the 30th November 2008.
