Attention SeaBees

Please be sure to read the new Propeller Talk and the info about about this years competitions.
All outing co-ordinators are requested to post an outing report in the Outing Report forum, it isn't rocket science and we are in 2008!
Please have a go at posting your outing report on there, if you haven't registered you will have to do so, but that takes only a minute or two.

Please note 2 contacts for the Monthly outing 17th - 19th October

Depending on where you are fishing, their are two contacts for the monthly outing, so be sure to contact the right person.

A few changes

I have set the new chat forum up. Anyone who wishes to refer to the old forum may do so for a period, but I'll be removing it completely in due course. I have changed the main link above to the new forum, which has many more features and is a lot nicer to look at and use. I think those who do use it will agree, and hopefully those of you who don't will start to.

Point scores as given to me are on the point scores page and the Outdoor program has been updated to the end of the calendar year.

Presidents Report - Tom Connolly

I really can’t believe what’s occurred in the past twelve months. If it wasn’t for the help of the fantastic members of the committee and the enthusiasm shown by you, it would not have happened!

Jimmy really got the ball rolling with the indoor programme and we are all enjoyed great guest speakers. Thanks Jim. Beaut job! This was supported by Sheppo and Steve who kept the fishoes fed! Thank you Sheppo and Steve for your consistent efforts.  Laurie’s enthusiasm for people, who perhaps have had hard times, was shown in the Del Rio Weekend. Eighteen enthusiastic members gave their time and boats for the enjoyment of a score of families. We certainly received a hundred fold back for our efforts. Thank you Laurie for setting this up! A wonderful weekend!  Bill, the world’s best Treasurer as well as Eddie, the world’s Best Cook, made the Children’s Christmas Party a memorable experience. Max, the extrovert, did “his thing” as Santa. Wasn’t it hilarious when Alex, the Mr Whippy man, turned up and whipped the kids up.   It appeared that for a brief moment the ice cream would win. Thank you Bill, Eddie and Max for the food and fun that was generated. Great stuff!

The Outdoor Programme was very successful, especially when it came to weekend away- the ANSA Conventions and the Freshwater Outings were very spirited!   The “run of the mill” Sydney Outings suffered a little at times with lack of numbers but a small dedicated band kept them turning over!  However there must be a special mention to the recent Lake Lyell ANSA Convention. What an effort, with so many rewards, due largely to the way it was co-ordinated by Max and supported by so many members. Max-you’re the best!!!!

Many great fish were landed! The Tanti family scored brilliantly as well as Jess, Ron and Paul.  Is there a “connection?” Jim Raiss has a smile from ear to ear with the recent catches of snapper; the Queensland dams proved a goldmine for many as well as many of the more local dams!  Great job lads! One thing is abundantly clear-we have great fisher people in the Sea Bees.

I would really like to thank Peter Hanna for his efforts as Assistant Secretary this year. His work has been exemplary! Peter will be leaving the club at the end of the current year to again take family duties, to mainly his grandchildren. Peter-you will be missed!

Our dedicated band of advertisers need special mention also. Without them, we could not function as well as we do. We try to support them at every opportunity for their fantastic generosity.

A very special thanks to Sally Tanti for the editing and printing of the magazine. Without her efforts, much would be lost! Sally-we can’t express how much you have done for us-a wonderful fantastic effort!

Many exciting things are in the pipeline-proposals about the outdoor programme to align the outings with the success that the weekend away types have had. We are really looking forward to a fantastic year in 08/09.

Glenn Reid catches a personal best Carp at Rouse Hill

Glenn Reid (right) has caught a personal best European Carp at his secret carp spot in Rouse Hill. The carp measured 680mm and weighed in at 4 kgs.

Nice capture Glenn, and thanks for the photo.

Paul Tanti and Laurie both catch monster Cod!

Paul Tanti with the monster Cod he caught at Lake WindamerePaul Tanti (left), a Sea Bees and ANSA member captured this monster Murray Cod while trolling on the 29th of September this year. We understand that in all likelyhood, it would have been a Sea Bees club record, an ANSA NSW and ANSA National record, however, it was not weighed on official scales as the process would have taken too long and the fish might well have died. It was photographed and measured, weighted on uncertified scales and released to play another day.

Pauls Murray Cod weighed 25 kgs, measured 1250 mm in length, and was caught on a 4.5 kg braid main line with a 3.6kg breakaway mono leader
Outstanding effort Paul.

Laurie Zammit with a monster Murray Cod Laurie Zammit (left) also caught a monster Murray Cod.
Well done Laurie. Read the full outing report

Bob Burgess lands a great Flathead
